PACHAMULAGU ARACHATHU OR ONION TOMATO GREEN CHILLY CHUTNEY

A South Indian Breakfast is incomplete without a chutney. We prepare this at least 4 times a week. Hence adding variety to the chutneys has become the need of the hour. Here I am sharing with you a recipe for onion tomato green chilly chutney. Its very healthy and easy to cook recipe. Onion and Tomatoes have great health benefits. The phytochemicals in onion improves the working of Vitamin C in the body. Tomatoes are rich source of Vitamin A,C,K, folate and potassium. Alright I am not making this complicated by adding all those nutritional terms!!. Today lets learn how to make this chutney.

Dosa with onion-tomato-green chilly chutney

Ingredients :

1. Onion             - 2
2. Tomatoes       - 2
3. Green Chilly   - 2 (According to your Spice Level)
4. Curry Leaves - One Spring
5. Salt                - As Reqd
6. Coconut Oil   - As Reqd



Preparation :

  • Heat a kadai/pan and pour some coconut oil in it.
  • Saute together Onion, Tomato, green chilly curry leaves and salt.
  • When the onions becomes slight golden brown, put off the flame and let it cool.
  • Grind this sauteed mixture to a smooth paste in a mixer.
  • The onion tomato green chilly chutney is ready to be served.

  • Smear some coconut oil on top of the chutney before serving.  
This Chutney tastes best with idly and dosa.
